Well it appears as though I made it through the weekend! How about you?

Sometimes I wonder how I survived all of that partying we did back in university. We would go out two nights in a row and be perfectly fine, if not the next day, then at least the day after that. You'd make your way through another school week and do it all over again the next weekend!

Now, I got out two nights in a row and I'm wiped for the week. Completely useless. Ugh.

After a couple of late nights it was nice to hang out with a few of the girls I work with at our little mini potluck, gossiping and watching The Bachelor wedding. We had some excellent food!

It's Friday!! Yayyy!!

The weather is unseasonably warm today, the snow is melting, and it's Friday. I'm not seeing too many reasons to complain... except for the fact that my pretty, clean white car looks like it's well on its way back to another $12 car wash.

We have a busy weekend ahead of us!

Gluten Free Brownies

As I mentioned in my previous post, my mother was here to visit this past weekend! I was super excited to finally be able to have a guest and not be embarrassed about the state of our house. My mom was the first one to see the main floor in all of its completed glory!

In addition to all of the excitement around showing off our house, it was also my mom's birthday! Don't worry, Mom, I promise not to reveal your true age...

Basement Reveal

As promised, I have returned with pictures of the basement renovation, which we also finished this weekend. A huge thank you to my mom, who came to visit for the weekend and helped to clean the walls, furniture and get everything back in its rightful place. And on her birthday too!!

Living Room Reveal

Ahh, renovations.

It seems as though our work is never done... but we have had a pretty exciting week! 

We have FINALLY finished the living room upstairs. The room that should have been one of the first ones done turned out to be one of the ones that dragged on and on and on and... well you get the point. To be fair, a lot of it had to do with having 14 foot lengths of trim for the basement stored on the floor. But still. 

NEW RECIPE! Zucchini Cookies

I am slowly getting back into the routine of work. Last week was a tough one though! For several reasons...

First: waking up to an alarm. Yikes! After two weeks you start to get used to waking up gently and whenever your body feels like it. Then you add in the fact that it's still dark outside and your body totally rebels.

Second: winter. Ahh, what I wouldn't give to be back in Cuba or some other tropical location where it's 30 degrees above zero instead of 30 degrees below! This view (where we spent at least 5 hours per day while on our little vacay) says it all:

Well folks, it's been quite some time since I published a post so there a few things to catch up on!

First, I have now officially experienced my first ever tropical vacation!!! You may recall from my previous posts, but in case you don't (and also, so that I can rub it in a little bit more...) the SO and I headed to Cuba for Christmas. It was quite the adventure, but I will save that for another post! I have things to catch up on from before that trip that should really come first.
