It seems as though our work is never done... but we have had a pretty exciting week!
We have FINALLY finished the living room upstairs. The room that should have been one of the first ones done turned out to be one of the ones that dragged on and on and on and... well you get the point. To be fair, a lot of it had to do with having 14 foot lengths of trim for the basement stored on the floor. But still.
Let's get right down to the before and after pictures! That's what really matters to me.
Sage green. Yuck! I'm sure it works for some people, but I am just not a fan.
And don't you just LOOOOOVE the curtains hanging at the top?
Oh, and that's our pooch, Mya. She uses the step up into the dining room to her advantage to keep watch over the street.
The dining room was the exact same... sage green and identical hideous curtains.
But now... behold!
Like I said before, this is one of the rooms that should have had the fastest turnaround time because we didn't really do that much. A fresh coat of paint, new trim all the way around, and a few new accessories.
From this view you can also see the new front door and side light :)
You may also recognize the cactus plants scattered throughout the room. They have finally found their permanent homes! The SO also got himself a palm tree. He was OBSESSED after we came back from Cuba and managed to find one for sale on Kijiji. Time will tell if we can keep it alive...
And the dining room...
Similar to the living room, all it really got was a fresh coat of paint and new trim, as well as a new dining room light.
Even though we didn't do all that much to these two rooms I still feel as though the end result is a huge improvement! What do you think?
Of course, everything still looks a little bare, but I have plans so do not fret. I just couldn't wait for all of the small touches to come together before I posted photos. I'm very excited to have a main floor that is completely finished!
